News From The Wood

This is myself and a colleague of mine and we are doing the news for our second grade students. Another colleague is behind the scenes doing all of the tech work to make it all happen. We collaborate together to create all of the information that we share. We do the weather, math talk, black history, our story with a focus on a country, dental health and happenings going on at our school. This has been a fun experience for all.

Our Trip To Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

We had a great time despite the weather. We learned about the gardens and the lifecycle of butterflies. We got to see the beautiful conservatory. My 2nd grade students enjoyed all of the fountains at the garden. This is a great place to visit with family at any time of the year.

100th Day of School!

Today is our 100th day of school. We have had a great time working with 100. We made hats, read stories and wrote about what we would buy if we had 100 dollars.  What did your class do to celebrate the 100th day?

iphones in education

I just got an iphone and was interested in ways that you use your smartphone in your classroom.  I am planning on using it with my ClassDojo for monitoring behavior.

Shadow

Well the shadow was seen and now the prediction is 6 more weeks of winter. I am not really sure if I am liking it or not. The older I get the more I like the warmer weather. What is your opinion on the prediction?

Embryology Unit

This is a picture of the Bob White quails that we hatched during our Embryology unit. The students loved getting to see the quails hatch and hearing them chirp throughout our day at school.

February is here!

Wonder what the groundhog will determine tomorrow when it comes out of its hole! I am not a cold weather person. So for me Spring can come now. What is your opinion on the prediction or outcome of the groundhog tomorrow?
